These three town houses were bought by a local developer and were being renovated together.
Amazingly, the buildings were quite original, though in very bad condition. We salvaged the fireplaces and steam radiators, but the rest of the interiors were scrapped.
This project speaks to the value of today's preservation regulations. The facade with windows had to be preserved by law. With this, the texture of the street is maintained while the interiors are remodeled with modern conveniences. We restored all 80 windows better than new using, as we always do when possible, the original jambs and pulleys.
