Egyptian Ambassador’s Residence
Total Window Restoration & Reproductions
We restored all the windows here. Often we'll secure permanently the top sash of a double hung for longer term reliability and abuse resistance. Belinda Reeder at Archetype wanted all sash operable and so it was. There were double hung reproductions, bowed glazing, and most difficult were getting the large French (out swing) casements operating.

These beautiful casement sashes have the characteristic meeting style where one sash fits and rolls into the other. Some had been cut in half for air conditioners, others pulled off the hinges. We used an interlocking bronze sill and perimeter spring bronze weather strip to all's satisfaction.

The Egyptian ambassador's residence located at
2301 Massachusetts Avenue, NW on Embassy Row in Washington, D.C. Also known as the
Joseph Beale House, the Romanesque Revival
building was designed by architect Glenn Brown.
